A haven of peace and tranquility
Clarsach is located in Big Sand, around 4 miles from Gairloch. It is an incredibly scenic part of the West coast of Scotland, with wide ranging views of the Torridon mountains and the north end of the Isle of Skye. The Wester Ross area is too stunning to describe and is an incredible place to relax and recharge; you’ll just have to visit.
Nearby, is Loch Maree which is the fourth largest freshwater loch in Scotland, it provides many walking opportunities and breath-taking, unspoilt views. Likewise, Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve is wild but beautiful, consisting of rugged peaks, ridges and scree-covered slopes between Loch Maree and Glen Torridon. Poolewe is a short drive from Big Sand, it has a lovely circular walk round Loch Kernsary for most abilities, but still provides outstanding views of the mountain ranges.
Further afield, for day trips, includes the stunning Loch Carron with views of the Strathcarron hills, the Applecross peninsula and Torridon mountain range. The picturesque village of Shieldaig, on the shores of Loch Torridon is a must visit if you can. Ullapool is nestled on the shores of Loch Broom and also within reach for a day trip.
